at Pinello Ranch

Summer is almost officially here and the birds have arrived, and are singing! The dawn chorus is with us for just a few months, May through July. While birds may make calls and other vocalization any time of year, it is the distinctive songs of the song birds that help identify many of them.
    Please join us for an opportunity to learn more about the birds singing at Pinello Ranch. We will also look for nesting behavior. Highlights will include tips on identifying different species and learning about behavior and habitat needs. At Pinello Ranch, we are working to manage the ranch for agriculture and wildlife.

Pre-registration is required as group size will be limited to 12

Special Notes: Please bring binoculars and bird identification books (some accommodations are possible with advance notice). The walking will be moderate but please plan on trail hiking.

PLEASE NOTE: THE HIKES WILL GO FORWARD REGARDLESS OF WEATHER, SO SORRY BUT NO REFUNDS WILL BE AVAILABLE.
*Directions: Take South Academy Exit from I-25, exit #135. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left heading north on Academy Blvd. Approximately 1/4 mile on right exit onto Hwy 85. Turn right onto Hwy 85 and take first right into Pinello Ranch. Drive straight, passing through the main gate, down a hill and you will be shown where to park.
