INVESTING OUR ASSETS

We have a highly experienced group of board members who serve as our Finance and Investment Committee. Together, these volunteers represent over a hundred years of investing experience, often over multiple economic cycles.

There are two different investment options at the Community Foundation:
  1. Funds can be added to our investment pools, and allocated according to the projected timeline for the fund. We maintain a professionally managed Equity Pool, a Fixed Income Pool, and a Money Market Pool. Some funds are completely allocated to a single pool, and other funds are distributed among different pools depending on the grant-making recommendations or expenditure requirements for the individual fund that a donor has created.

  2. Larger funds can be individually managed by a professional investment manager. We work with most of the best investment managers in the Pikes Peak region, so we can either match you to one of our experts, or create a new relationship with your trusted investment manager.

We invest all assets according to a thoughtful, prudent Investment Policy that is reviewed annually by our Finance Committee and our investment managers. We invest relatively conservatively for total return over a longer time horizon, so our investments are less affected by short term volatility in markets.
Call Bob at 719-389-1251 to receive a copy of our Investment Policy, or to discuss investment strategy, available investment managers, or our investment pools.
