Uncle Wilber Fountain

Re: PPCF website information
Double your donation now!  Thanks to matching grants from the Gay & Lesbian Fund For Colorado and the Smokebrush Foundation, contributions from new donors will be matched dollar-for-dollar; contributions from current supporters will be matched for their increase in gift.

This matching grant is effective beginning May 1 and up until the point we raise $9,000 community dollars for a total of $18,000 to support the full-time operation of the fountain!!

Located downtown Colorado Springs, in Acacia Park, the whimsical Uncle Wilber Fountain has entertained thousands of kids (and lots of adults, too!) with its delightful sculpture, 52 vertical pop jets, over 200 unpredictable streams of water, dozens of colorful fiber-optic lights, danceable scores, and a water-themed riddle that, when the fountain is on, is accessible only to those willing to "take the plunge" and venture beneath the waterfall cascading from Wilber's sky-blue dome.

The Uncle Wilber Fountain was designed by Kat and Bob Tudor, long-time members of the area's vibrant arts community, and donated to the city of Colorado Springs by the Smokebrush Foundation for the Arts. The fountain is truly a collaborative project involving both public and private entities, as the city now owns it and is responsible for its on-going maintenance, but hundreds of area residents and businesses, along with the private Smokebrush Foundation, have contributed to its creation, installation, and upkeep.
