The Jim Breeden Hospitality Scholarship – Deadline: March 4, 2016
The Pike’s Peak Lodging Association created this scholarship in honor of our friend and colleague, Mr. Jim Breeden, a respected leader in the hospitality industry. After proudly serving this country as a Marine, Jim became a very successful hotelier, working his way up from bartending to hotel management. Jim was an active member within the lodging community, serving as a board member on both the PPLA and Colorado Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau. In addition, he served on the Colorado Springs Lodging and Auto Rental tax committee. Jim loved this community. He managed to be both dedicated to his professional career and devoted to his family.
Jim Breeden was a passionate advocate for the hospitality industry, politically and educationally. In keeping with his legacy, scholarships are available for those in pursuit of higher education. The education path may lead towards a career in hospitality like Jim, or follow a different route; all degree pursuits will be considered. Scholarships are available to employees of, or be a dependent of an employee, of a PPLA member establishment.
