at Venetucci Farm and Pinello Ranch
August – September
Birds are already on the move in August and by September migration is in full swing. Migration in the fall is more spread out than spring migration, with surprises possible around every corner. To add to the fun, molting adults and juveniles with funky plumages make identification an extra challenge. Past surprise visitors have included Black Tern, Red-eyed and Blue-headed Vireos and Townsend’s Warbler. As we always say, “Anything is possible during migration!”
Highlights will include tips on identifying different species and learning about behavior and habitat needs. At Pinello Ranch and Venetucci Farm, we are working to manage the ranch for agriculture and wildlife. We are also continuing our bird banding project so please make sure to check out the dates that feature a bird banding demonstration: Sept 10th and 17th, both at Venetucci Farm!
September 17th Guided Birding Hike is sold out, please email David Rudin for waitlist.
Pre-registration is required for all events as group size will be limited. Please complete the registration form below.
