Fermented Foods Class
Saturday, August 20th – 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Cost:  $35.00

Come and spend an afternoon with Mara King and Willow King of Ozuké, a fine fermented foods company hailing from Boulder, Colorado.  Mara and Willow will teach you the basics of counter-top fermentation. Last year the class tackled a few classics – sauerkraut, a brined dill pickle and either pickled peppers.  This year’s class projects will be dependent upon what’s available at the time of the class.

We will go over safety, flavor and technique to help you get started on making these fine foods for yourself at home.  Bring 3 pint sized ball jars and you will be able to bring home some pickle “babies” to finish fermenting at home!

–What equipment would I need?
–Where do I get the stuff (equipment)?
–How much does it cost?
–How hard is this?
–Can I do this in town?
–What is a yearly work schedule?
–How do you get the honey (extraction)
–What are some good resources?
–Do I really want to do this?
