Chief Executive Officer

Gary was hired in 2016 to lead the Foundation after an 18-year tenure at El Pomar Foundation, a $550 million private foundation. With extensive knowledge and experience in the field of philanthropy and the local community, Gary brings a passion for leadership and impact to PPCF. Gary is also involved with several statewide and civic organizations, serving as President of the Colorado State Board of Land Commissioners and on the boards of the Colorado Springs Downtown Partnership, the Broadmoor World Arena, and Colorado Springs Youth Sports, Inc. Gary earned his undergraduate degree in Sociology with a Political Science focus from Yale University and an MBA from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.

Nikki McComsey, CPA

Director of Community Investment

Nikki McComsey, CPA joined the Foundation in August 2016 after five years as the Executive Director at Kids on Bikes. Nikki is a Certified Public Accountant and began her career at BKD as an auditor but was drawn toward community engagement work, believing that every person has something unique and special to add to this world. She has a BA in Accounting and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Nikki believes that philanthropy is the tangible expression of caring and loves that in her role at PPCF, she gets to help people explore their values and passions so they can identify the things they deeply care about.

Leslie Sabin (formerly Middleton), CPA

Director of Finance

Leslie Sabin, CPA, joined PPCF in November 2015 and serves as the Director of Finance. Leslie began her career at BKD specializing in auditing nonprofit organizations and then moved on to Catholic Health Initiatives Foundation, where she spent four years managing the accounting and finances for 20 healthcare foundations. She has also served as Controller for PHD 123 and as a Senior Accountant for Tenfold BPO. Leslie is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Leslie manages all aspects of finance, including oversight over the proper accounting of all Foundation funds.

Samuel Clark

Director of Philanthropy

Samuel Clark is the Director of Philanthropy and manages PPCF’s special projects, which include Venetucci Farm and Aspen Valley Ranch. His public-sector experience comes from his work with El Pomar Foundation and the National Parks Service Business Management Group. Samuel grew up in Colorado Springs; he loves the city’s potential and Pikes Peak’s constant presence. His work at PPCF gives him a sense of purpose because it allows him to help philanthropists express their vision for the region. He has a BA in economics from Whitman College, and a Master of Public Affairs from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.

Program Officer

Eula Tatman joined the Foundation in November 2016. In her role as Program Officer, Eula enjoys engaging with local partners and change makers as she represents the Foundation throughout the Pikes Peak Region. Eula approaches all that she does with a passion to serve others and create positive change and enjoys her work at the Foundation because it allows her the opportunity to connect donors with the local needs. She has a wealth of experience in non-profit administration and grants management. Prior to joining the Foundation, she served 15 years as Vice President of Programs with the Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama. Eula holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Kentucky University.

Senior Accountant

Libby Walton joined the Foundation in March 2018 after 7 years as a Financial Analyst at JDSU/Viavi Solutions. Prior to that, she worked at Kendall Jackson Winery, Hewlett-Packard, and Agilent Technologies in a variety of accounting and finance roles. Libby moved to the Pikes Peak region in 2002, and immediately fell in love with the Colorado lifestyle and beautiful scenery. She is very excited to be working at the Community Foundation and helping to give back to the community and city that she loves to call home.

Shelby Bobst

Philanthropy Associate

Shelby joined the Foundation team in November 2016 as the Finance and Operations Associate. Since then, Shelby has transitioned to the Philanthropy Associate role where she primarily assists donors in achieving their philanthropic objectives. Prior to the Foundation, she served as a Development Associate with a local nonprofit. She earned her Master’s in Public Administration from UCCS in 2016, and acquired two graduate certificates: one in Nonprofit Fund Development, and the other in Grant Writing, Grant Management, and Program Evaluation. Shelby loves her role at the Community Foundation because it affords her the opportunity to connect donors with the exceptional nonprofit community in the Pikes Peak region!
