Memorial Funds
In Memory
When a loved one passes away, many families and friends wish to create a lasting legacy in honor of his or her life. Making the decision of which charity or charities should receive donations can be daunting during this time of loss. A memorial endowment fund gives you time to consider how best to represent your loved one’s passions and interests.
Buffalo Soldiers Memorial Fund
Congress established the Buffalo Soldiers, a black military unit, to serve on battlefields, work as peacekeepers, map the American West, and protect the U.S. border and national parks in 1866. In the summer of 2016, a group of Colorado Springs residents, the Buffalo Soldiers Memorial Committee, unveiled a monument at Memorial Park featuring the names of 23 Buffalo Soldier Medal of Honor recipients. The monument, located at the park's Circle of Honor, honors the soldiers and their contributions. The Buffalo Soldiers Memorial Fund exists for the continued maintenance and upkeep of the memorial.
